The Ghana College of Pharmacists (GCPharm), in collaboration with the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), is pleased to invite Pharmacists to this transformative 2-day virtual CPD training event. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the principles of surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP), including indications, timing, selection, and dosing of antibiotics.
2. Apply evidence-based guidelines for SAP to reduce surgical site infections (SSIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
3. Optimize the management of resistant gram-negative infections using current strategies.
4. Comprehend the concept of AMS rounding, including documentation and its clinical relevance.
5. Demonstrate effective communication techniques during AMS-related ward rounds.
6. Develop strategies for implementing infection prevention measures, including aseptic techniques and environmental controls.
7. Integrate pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches into AMS programs for comprehensive care.
8. Evaluate the impact of AMS interventions on patient outcomes and antimicrobial use.
