Prof. Marc Evans MB BCh, MD, FRCP, DipDiab, PhD

Prof. Marc Evans is a Consultant Diabetologist at the University Hospital Llandough in Cardiff, where he has held his position since 2003. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Prof. Evans is widely recognized for his extensive contributions to the fields of diabetes care, health economics, health outcomes, epidemiology, and pharmacoepidemiology. His academic and clinical expertise has had a profound impact on the understanding and management of chronic diseases, particularly diabetes.

Prof. Evans has an active research portfolio and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts. His research focuses on the economic and quality-of-life aspects of diabetes management, including the financial implications of hypoglycemia, weight gain, and glucose control. He has also been instrumental in supporting various Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions for novel therapies across a wide range of diseases.

Currently, Prof. Evans serves as Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Therapy, a leading journal dedicated to therapeutic advancements in diabetes care. His editorial work highlights his commitment to improving clinical outcomes and promoting innovation in diabetes management.

Prior to his current role, Prof. Evans was a lecturer in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Wales College of Medicine, further solidifying his academic contributions to the field.
