Rev. Pharm Roger Ahiable is a trained Oncology Pharmacy practitioner. He is a results-focused Pharmacist with strength in Pharmaceutical Care delivery including adherence counselling, oncology pharmacy, and production pharmacy.
He holds various qualifications including a Certificate in Childhood Cancer Training Program organized by World Child Cancer in collaboration with Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Africa Oxford Cancer Foundation [AfrOX], May 2014. A Certificate in Childhood Cancer Update Program organized by the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in collaboration with Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, World Child Cancer [WCC] and the Department of International Development [DFID] United Kingdom. Completion of ISOPP Masterclass in Aseptic Dispensing, in Nairobi Kenya, May 2019, among others. An Observership Training in Management of Childhood Cancers, at the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa, 2nd February to 5th March, 2020
He has also actively participated in numerous local and international conferences including that on Good Clinical Practice organized by the Food and Drugs Authority, Ghana, June 2016. The Africa Regional Oncology Pharmacy Symposium [AROPS) in Nairobi, Kenya, organized by the International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners [ISOPP). May 2019.
Rev. Pharm Ahiable has trained other Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners from, and for other Teaching Hospitals in Ghana including Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, University of Cape Coast Hospital. Additionally, he has trained Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners from other countries including Nigeria. He continually trains Pharmacy Residents, Interns, and Students in reconstitution of cytotoxic medicines and management of their side effects. He further trains other healthcare team members such as Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses Pharmacy Technicians, orderlies, etc. in handling of cytotoxic medicines.
At the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, he has developed Standard Operating Procedures for reconstituting cytotoxic medicines in Oncology Daycare, Department of Child Health. Helped prepare extemporaneous medicines for dosage forms of medicines that are not readily available, facilitated access to cytotoxic medicines for clients and caregivers, and provided needed drug information services to the medical team in managing patient drug therapy
He is a member of the Oncology Pharmacy Association of Ghana (OPAG), the International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners (ISOPP), the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) Ghana, and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH).
He is a Reverend Minister, and an enthusiastic individual with superior skills in working in both team-based and independent capacities. Bringing strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills to any setting.
