Gertrude Nunoo, also known as Trudi Nunoo, is a seasoned Ghanaian professional with over 22 years of experience in project design, management, public health, financial consulting, business development, capacity building, and gender and development. She holds a Commonwealth Executive MBA specializing in Project Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Sociology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. An alumna of the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program, she has deep expertise in public health and infection prevention.
Currently, she serves as the Project Director for FHI 360 EpiC Ghana, leading initiatives under the Global Health Security and HIV projects. Her leadership spans strategic direction, stakeholder collaboration, and effective project execution, particularly in mental health support for persons living with HIV (PLHIV) and security technical assistance for organizations serving marginalized groups. She has also played a pivotal role in expanding PrEP and HIV self-testing across Ghana, scaling these interventions from two to 12 regions. Notable among her contributions is her coordination of Ghana’s Mpox response, working closely with the Ghana Health Service to strengthen health systems, train healthcare workers, and deliver tailored public health interventions.
Previously, as Executive Director of Pro-Link Organization, she spearheaded numerous social interventions and development projects funded by local and international organizations. Her leadership involved managing health, gender, and social protection programs across eight of Ghana’s ten regions. These initiatives addressed critical issues, including maternal and child health, infectious diseases, gender equality, and social accountability, ensuring sustainability through strategic partnerships at all administrative levels.
Recognized for her exceptional contributions, Gertrude received the FY23 FHI360 NOW Award for outstanding work in building and leading the EpiC project in Ghana. Her global experience includes engagements in countries such as India, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Canada, and the United States, enriching her capacity to integrate international best practices into local contexts.
