Mr. Saviour Yevutsey is a distinguished Senior Specialist at the Ministry of Health and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists. His academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and a Master in Public Health (MPH) specializing in Health Policy Planning and Management from the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, Legon.

Currently serving as the National Coordinator of the Ghana Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Secretariat at the Ministry of Health, Mr. Yevutsey plays a pivotal role in coordinating the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) for the AMR policy. He was instrumental in the development of the AMR policy and its NAP, employing a one-health approach. In his capacity as a team leader, he conducts monitoring and technical support visits on pharmaceutical activities across regional medical stores, regional, and district hospitals in Ghana.

Mr. Yevutsey's dedication extends to improving the rational use of medicines. He serves as the national coordinator for the Rational Use of Medicines and the institutionalization of the Drugs and Therapeutic Committee in healthcare facilities. He spearheaded the initial phase of using Health Technology Assessment (HTA) as a priority-setting tool and its institutionalization in Ghana. Additionally, he led the pilot implementation of Antimicrobial use monitoring in human health facilities.

In the realm of research, Mr. Yevutsey authored the "Situational analysis of antibiotic use and resistance in Ghana: policy and regulation," contributing significantly to the policy agenda on AMR in Ghana. He has also published work on the "Financial Viability of District Mutual Health Insurance Schemes of Lawra and Sissala East Districts in the Upper West region of Ghana."

As the Head of the Drug Policy Unit at the Ministry of Health, Mr. Yevutsey is responsible for the development and implementation of drug policies. The unit, under his leadership, also oversees the development and review of national standard treatment guidelines.

Mr. Yevutsey's extensive involvement in national committees, including the National Medicine Selection Committee, Technical Working Group on Health Technology Assessment, and Technical Working Group on Antimicrobial Resistance Policy and Stewardship, showcases his commitment to shaping healthcare policies in Ghana.

With a five-year track record of managing and implementing strategic programs in the pharmaceutical sector, Mr. Saviour Yevutsey has consistently met set targets and demonstrated appreciable insight into health insurance in Ghana. His ability to work independently and in a team, delivering solutions in a pressured, deadline-driven environment, underscores his proficiency and dedication to the advancement of healthcare in the country.

Educationally, Mr. Yevutsey holds the distinction of being a Fleming Fund Fellow for Antimicrobial Policy in the UK, a Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) holder from the University of Ghana.

His significant contributions extend to the development of various policy documents, including Standard Treatment Guidelines for Sickle Cell Disease, Pricing Strategy for Pharmaceuticals and other Health technologies in Ghana, and the Ghana National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (2017-2021).

With numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals and a robust presence at international conferences, Mr. Saviour Yevutsey stands as a key figure in the advancement of pharmaceutical policies and healthcare management in Ghana.
