Dr. Nihad Salifu is a highly accomplished medical professional with a distinguished career in paediatric oncology and healthcare leadership. She graduated with a Degree in Medicine (MB.CHB) from the University of Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, and has since made significant contributions to the field of paediatric oncology in Ghana and beyond.

With a strong commitment to advancing healthcare and improving outcomes for patients, Dr. Salifu currently holds the position of Senior Specialist (Paediatric Oncology) at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ghana. Her career is marked by extensive involvement in various medical organizations and initiatives, reflecting her dedication to making a difference in the field.

Dr. Salifu's impact extends across national and international levels. She serves as the Co-Chair of the Twinning and Collaboration Group of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) & Paediatric Oncology in Developing Countries (PODC). This role highlights her leadership in fostering collaboration among medical professionals to enhance paediatric oncology care globally.

Furthermore, Dr. Salifu is a Committee Member for the Development of Newborn Standards for Ghana within the Ghana Health Service, showcasing her commitment to improving healthcare standards within the country. Her role as a National Facilitator for Newborn Resuscitation and Essential Newborn Care further underscores her dedication to training and capacity-building in healthcare.

Dr. Salifu's expertise also extends to education and training. She has served as a Facilitator for Paediatric Oncology Twinning Workshops and various other training sessions and workshops. Her commitment to sharing knowledge and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals is evident in her roles as a Part-Time Lecturer at institutions such as the Accra College of Medicine, Ghana College of Pharmacist, Ghana College of Nursing and Midwives, and Family Health Medical School.

She has attended and presented at numerous Seminars, Conferences, and Workshops around the world, including events such as the World Haematology Congress in London, UK, and the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) Congress in Kyoto, Japan.

Dr. Salifu's journey in healthcare began with early roles as a House Officer at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra. She completed her residency in paediatrics at the Department of Child Health, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, before taking on roles as a Medical Officer and Specialist Paediatrician at La General Hospital and Princess Marie Louise Hospital, respectively.
