Dr. (Mrs.) Adwoa Bemah Boamah Mensah is a nurse by profession and a lecture in Nursing and Midwifery at the Department of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. She obtained her Diploma (distinction) in Nursing in 2005. In 2009, she obtained her BSc (Hons) degree in Nursing and MPhil in Nursing in 2013.
She got a sponsorship to do her PhD at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa in 2017. She has an extensive clinical experience in nursing and oncology practice and was a focal person for infection prevention and control (IPC) at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi. Dr (Mrs. ) Boamah Mensah has risen through the ranks through the positions of technical instructor, assistant lecture, lecture and now a research fellow. She has been the coordinator for the postgraduate nursing program at KNUST since 2019 and currently a Co-Principal Investigator on the Health Workers’ Survey on Covid-19, an ALEERT-KCCR project. She works on breast cancer, family caregivers, palliative care, child and maternal health, nursing education, and IPC practices. She has a number of ongoing research activities and has several publications to her credit.
