Dr. Jacob Kuutuome is a distinguished public health logistics, procurement, and supply chain management specialist with a strong footprint in Ghana and beyond. His academic foundation includes a PhD in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, a Master of Philosophy in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Logistics and Supply Chain Management, all earned from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). A Fellow of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), Dr. Kuutuome has specialized in public policy, ethical governance, and accountable leadership.

Dr. Kuutuome is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK) and the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply. He also holds membership in the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS UK). His leadership extends to being the Anglophone Africa Chair on the Governing Council of the International Association of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL), as well as the Ghana Chapter Chair. Additionally, he serves as a council member of the Health Sector Supply Chain Practitioners Association of Ghana, championing advancements in public healthcare supply chain practice across the nation.

In his professional career, Dr. Kuutuome has held pivotal roles that reflect his expertise and commitment to improving healthcare logistics. He has worked as the Ghanaian lead consultant for the Access and Delivery Partnership (ADP) project, a collaborative effort involving WHO, TDR, PATH, UNDP, and the Japanese Government. Currently, he heads the Supply Chain Department at St. Michael’s Catholic Hospital and serves as a part-time faculty member at the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems, KNUST. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Nandom Youth Development Organization (NYDO Ghana).

Dr. Kuutuome’s consultancy experience spans significant projects in international development and supply chain management. He is the Project Coordinator for PSCM Consult Ghana Ltd., where he leads initiatives for the National Health Insurance Authority, assessing and monitoring Zipline drone sites in Ghana. He coordinates USAID-funded projects on pharmaceutical and COVID-19 vaccine waste management and leads UNICEF-funded efforts to strengthen supply chain systems in low- and middle-income countries. His portfolio includes advisory roles on sustainable public procurement projects in Mozambique, Kenya, and Zambia under the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. He has contributed to curriculum development for CARISCA, shaping programs in pharmaceutical, health, and agricultural supply chain management in Ghana. His work also encompasses national surveys, competency assessments, and the establishment of midwifery training schools, demonstrating a holistic approach to healthcare development.

A seasoned conference participant, Dr. Kuutuome has shared insights at global forums such as the PtD Global Indaba in Bangkok, the Global Health Supply Chain Summit in Nairobi, CARISCA Research Summits in Ghana, and the Africa Health Summit in South Africa. His presence at prestigious events like the IPSERA conferences in Europe and workshops on strategic leadership in global health supply chain management highlights his commitment to advancing the field.
