Dr E. Nii Boye Hammond is a Nuclear Medicine Physician, currently serving as the Medical Superintendent at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) Hospital and also a Senior Specialist at the Nuclear Medicine unit of the National Centre for Radiotherapy Oncology and Nuclear Medicine (NCRONM) at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra. He had his specialist training in Johannesburg South Africa at the University of the Witswatersrand where he obtained both the MMed (Nuclear Medicine) and the Fellowship of the College of Nuclear Physicians of South Africa [FCNP (SA)] under sponsorship of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He is also a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, currently serving as a member of the board of the Faculty of Radiology, Oncology and Radiotherapy. He has also served as Ghana Country Counterpart in various IAEA African Regional (AFRA) projects in Nuclear Medicine (RAF6057, RAF6051 and RAF 6060) since 2016.

Dr Hammond been directly involved in the growth of nuclear medicine within the country, over the past 8 years, expanding the range of services available to clients, including the introduction of Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), Milk scans for pediatric patients, TcIPSMA imaging and Lu-177 PSMA therapy for prostate Ca patients all in the last year. He is currently involved in the development of curriculum for the local training of nuclear medicine physicians in Ghana.

Dr Hammond has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals with special interest in Nuclear Thyroidology, radionuclide therapy, PET imaging and Nuclear Medicine oncology. He is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), European Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (EANMMI), South African Society of Nuclear Medicine (SASNM) and the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH) with multiple presentations at various international Nuclear Medicine Conferences.
