
Dr. Bolanle Olajumoke Okunowo is a Nigerian physician and consultant endocrinologist currently serving at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, Lagos. She is the lead consultant at the hospital's Diabetes Center of Excellence, where she focuses on improving access to diabetic care, particularly among women and vulnerable populations in Lagos State. Her role also involves teaching medical students and training junior doctors in clinical endocrinology and internal medicine.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Okunowo has worked in both public and private health institutions, including Chevron Gbagada Hospital and several private medical centers across Lagos as a visiting consultant endocrinologist. Her clinical experience spans the management of endocrine disorders, general internal medicine, and public health education, and she has appeared in multiple media engagements to discuss diabetes, thyroid disorders, and antibiotic awareness.
Dr. Okunowo holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree and is a Fellow of both the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCP). She is also a Member of the West African College of Physicians (MWACP). In addition to her formal qualifications, she has completed numerous local and international professional training programs in clinical endocrinology, research methodology, cardiovascular health, and leadership in healthcare.
